This is a short, cut to the chase, version of a story I would tell my pre-school class about God and being a Christian and relating it to Jack-o-laterns. Hope you enjoy it.

My Child asked, 'What is it like to be a Christian?'

I replied, 'It is like being a pumpkin.'

God picks you from the patch, brings you in,

and washes all the dirt off of you.

Then He cuts off the top and scoops out all the yucky stuff.
He removes the seeds of doubt, hate, and greed.

Then He carves you a new smiling face and

puts His light inside of you to shine for all the world to see.'

I hope during this season, You let the light shine that God has placed in you, for all the world to see! God Bless and Happy Fall Y'all!!

PECANS IN THE CEMETERY

On the outskirts of a small town, there was a big, old pecan tree just inside the cemetery fence. One day, two boys filled up a bucketful of nuts and sat down by the tree, out of sight, and began dividing the nuts.

'One for you, one for me One for you, one for me,' said one boy. Several dropped and rolled down toward the fence.

Another boy came riding along the road on his bicycle. As he passed, he thought he heard voices from inside the cemetery. He slowed down to investigate. Sure enough, he heard, 'One for you, one for me. One for you, one for me.'

He just knew what it was. He jumped back on his bike and rode off. Just around the bend he met an old man with a cane, hobbling along.

'Come here quick,' said the boy, 'you won't believe what I heard! Satan and the Lord are down at the cemetery dividing up the souls.'

The man said, 'Beat it kid, can't you see it's hard for me to walk.' When the boy insisted though, the man hobbled slowly to the cemetery.

Standing by the fence they heard , 'One for you, one for me. One for you, one for me.'

The old man whispered, 'Boy, you've been tellin' me the truth. Let's see if we can see the Lord.'

Shaking with fear, they peered through the fence, yet were still unable to see anything. The old man and the boy gripped the wrought iron bars of the fence tighter and tighter as they tried to get a glimpse of the Lord.

At last they heard, 'One for you, one for me. That's all. Now let's go get those nuts by the fence and we'll be done.'

They say the old man made it back to town a full 5 minutes ahead of the kid on the bike.

SMILE, God Loves you!

Look Up

Wow! It's been a long time since I've posted anything on here. I got a bit sidetracked with facebook.

I thought I'd give you a little lesson on a bat and a bumblebee.

A bat, when on the flat ground, can't go anywhere. He will not be able to fly away. He will flounder until he reaches a slight elevation. Then he can take off and fly as he was meant to do.

A bumblebee, when caught in an open glass jar, will continuely bump against the side. Trying to find his way out through the side. He is unable to fly straight up.
He will continue to try, until he is all used up.

All this to say, don't we try to do the same thing with our problems. All we would have to do, is look up. But what we do instead, is to keep trying on our own to solve the problem. We talk to our friends, read books or articles or just sit and wallow in our problem and never move from it.

What our first response should be, is to look up. God is the one who can handle all our problems big or small. We just need to give them to Him. He is the only one with ALL the answers.

The solution is simple. The application....well, I guess now that's up to each one of us individually.

God Bless
